What you are about to explore is a sampling of letters from my piece, Lebuse╒s Letters. The piece is structured as a three-act play. However, unlike a traditional play or film, you can navigate among the scenes, searching along your own paths and at your own pace.
The story centers on the letter as the sole form of communication or link among family members separated by war.
The letter serves three purposes: it is ╥punctuation╙ between the different scenes; it is both anchor and link tying the story together; and it reveals elements of the story to the characters and to the viewer.
This story is about the lives of the artist╒s grandmother and her two sisters, people who could be members of any European family torn apart by World War II whose letters were their sole communication.
I hope you enjoy the sampling of letters from the piece, which will be published in its entirety in the fall of 1995.

About the Artist
Robert Linehan is a digital artist with a background in fine art, computers, theater, music, and sound. He created Lebuse╒s Letters as a thesis project while earning his masters of fine art in computer graphics at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He is currently at work on the second piece of the trilogy that will include Lebuse╒s Letters.
